Films discussed: All Day and a Night (Netflix) and Defending Jacob Eps 1/2 (Apple TV+)
All Day and a Night is certainly not an easy film to watch or digest. It's heavy and powerful. Experience East Oakland California- the real struggle to get out. Ashton Sanders and Jeffrey Wright are stellar. Check it out.
Defending Jacob has more production value than it knows what to do with. Chris Evans and Michelle Dockery are great along with several other people. A Husband and wife struggle to prove their son's innocence in a murder case. Gripping and compelling.
Hosted, produced and mixed by Grayson Maxwell and Roger Stillion. Guest appearances by Christopher Boughan. Music by Chad Wall. Quality Assurance by Anthony Emmett.

May 2020. Still Covid. Stream stuff. Enjoy your couch.
Films discussed: Arkansas (VOD) and The Half of It (Netflix)
Arkansas is a very slow burn. With wonderful performances from Liam Hemsworth, John Malkovich, Vince Vaughn and Clark Duke. It's very Tarantino inspired and that is never a bad thing. You won't be disappointed.
The Half of it is a much better than average teen dramedy. With a non traditional love triangle between a guy (Paul) and two girls (Astor and Ellie Chu), its well written and, what's more, smart. Has some pretty wonderfully awkward moments and some well timed comedy. Enjoy it. We did.
Hosted, produced and mixed by Grayson Maxwell and Roger Stillion. Guest appearances by Christopher Boughan and Holly Stillion. Music by Chad Wall. Quality Assurance by Anthony Emmett.

Another week or two for staying inside and no contact. Fire up the streaming!
My Spy is finally out after being delayed a few times and it doesn't suck! Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman really fit well together as the Battle hardened CIA op JJ and the wonderful 9 year old Sophie. Coleman steals the show and well deserved. Middle of the road movie that delivers on some laughs and entertainment. Blueberry the fish also is a key player.
Disney nature films never disappoint. These two are no exception. Journey with Jomo the baby elephant and his pack as they traverse the Kalahari desert and back again learning valuable life lessons along the way. Similarly, dive in with Echo the baby Dolphin and Fluke the baby humpback whale and the pod as they explore the reef and teach their young how to survive in a colorful and dazzling environment. these are great and should not be missed!

Tuesday Apr 21, 2020
40:45 - Love Wedding Repeat
1:14:10 - Trolls World Tour
These are the days. Restricted to home, we all are. What have you watched lately?
Trolls is a huge VOD release and it does not disappoint. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake are really wonderful and Queen Poppy and Branch. It's really fun, cute and has a soul that probably inspires. Kids will love it. Adults will like it. Check it out.
Love Wedding Repeat. Olivia Munn and Sam Claflin. It's a typical movie for this time of year. Wedding comedy. Not really any chemistry between the few couples but it has a few good laughs. A groom gets pushed off a balcony. Chaz is the BEST. Check it out.

Tuesday Apr 14, 2020
32:50 - Tiger King (Netflix)
17:20 - Mr. Right (2016)
Enjoying ALL your streaming services lately? These are the days.
Tiger King. Nothing has spread quite like wildfire as Tiger King recently. It's trashy and just goofy as heck but dang if it isn't fun! If you have not seen it yet, you owe it to yourself and your very young children to watch it. Well, not the young children.
Mr Right is about as average or less than average as a movie gets. Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick are great as always. But they couldn't save this from just a mediocre at best movie. But there were a few laughs!

168 - I Still Believe and Vivarium
Tuesday Apr 07, 2020
Tuesday Apr 07, 2020
12:30 - I Still believe
29:50 - Vivarium
This is the time for movies. Quarantine be damned!
Bust out the snacks and hunker down. Let's talk movies! A religious journey with extreme faith and a look into 2020 America and how we think and feel- at least in simulation.
I Still believe is a very intimate love story with faith and hope- The true story of Jeremy Camp and Melissa Henning- their meeting, courtship, love and loss. It's a tear jerker if there ever was one.
Vivarium is a different beast all together. A young couple, looking for a place to call home, find themselves trapped in what seems like an endless neighborhood maze of identical houses and clouds. One weird turn begets another until the oddities begin to make sense.

Tuesday Mar 31, 2020
33:20 - Spencer Confidential (Netflix)
48:30 - Bloodshot
Pandemic 2020. Times are weird. Movie Theaters are closed. Luckily, streaming is stronger than ever!
Get out the walking shoes and go for a walk this week with some headphones. Plug in and get ready for an action packed discussion of two action packed movies that are...average at best.
Vin Diesel's Bloodshot is certain fast paced and effects driven but what happens when your main actor can't deliver dialogue? Bloodshot happens. Spencer Confidential finds Spencer and Hawk teamed up again to bring down some corrupt cops and save the memory of a fallen hero cop. Where do these movies fall flat?

Tuesday Mar 24, 2020
25:00 - Stargirl
50:37 - The Hunt
Pandemic 2020. Times are weird. Movie Theaters are closed. Luckily, streaming is stronger than ever!
Plug in for an hour and give a listen as we dive into the latest controversy of a film, The Hunt. Unlike The Hunger games and Ready or Not, The hunt is another spin on the "People hunting people" story. Though not great, Betty Gilpin is ABSOLUTELY worth your time.
Stargirl is the newest Disney+ content. Leo is an average boy just trying to survive high school when he meets Stargirl- a girl who may or may not have a bit of magic up her sleeve. While everyone in the school starts to do better while she is around, Leo tried to figure out what was real and what was not.

Hint: We LOVED The Way Back. Onward is a strong movie, just not the strongest Pixar.
