042 - Weapons, Dir. Zach Cregger
17 kids, from the same classroom, are all missing with no explanation as to why they left their houses early one morning. Only one kid remains and the teacher is suspected to be involved.
One hell of a set up for a horror film. Excellent Camera work, great writing, and wonderful performances all await you in this one.

041 - The Naked Gun (2025), Dir. Akiva Schaffer
The Naked Gun Trilogy from decades ago was once the gold standard for comedy. It is a great pleasure to see the revival work so well with the right elements in play to make a really great 30 years later sequel and, hopefully, give us another hilarious trilogy. Liam Neeson is, as always, awesome as the lead character of Frank Drebin Jr. There is a laugh a minute, with most laughs landing very well creating a very rare phenomena today of an entire theater full laughing in unison more than a few times. Check this one out and prepare for some chuckles. You will be glad you did.

040 - The Fantastic Four: First Steps
It's been a good summer for DC, Marvel, Fans of Super hero's and film lovers alike. Just a few weeks ago, Superman (2025) hit the big screen and was well received. This week, Fantastic Four: First Steps takes a step in the same direction, giving Marvel fans hope once again.
Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby bring to use a more intimate take on the iconic superhero family including a whimsical version of Earth 828 with a focus on family and motherhood. We recommend you see this and on an IMAX screen- you will be happy you did.

039 - I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025, Dir. Jennifer Kaylin Robinson
I Know What you Did Last Summer (1997) was a pretty big hit. Just a year after Scream revived the slasher genre, it had a huge cast, screenwriter Kevin Williamson, and the and aesthetics of the over produced, over dramatic big budget mid to late 90's.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) sadly doesn't have any of the above except for Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prince Jr. It does have a few laughs but the magic of the 90's is definitely absent here.

038 - Superman, Dir. James Gunn
Superman (2025) was a pretty important movie to get right. We are very happy that it is a win for the DC Fandom and a good start for whatever plans James Gunn has in store for the new DCEU.
This one more closely resembles a comic book feel and look. David Corenswet's Superman and Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor feel very faithful to the source material and serve the story well. Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane is also wonderful casting. If you are curious to check this out- don't miss it on the big screen.

037 - Jurassic World: Rebirth, Dir. Gareth Edwards
People love some dinosaur action on the big screen. Since 1993, Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films have made billions of dollars in the box office. The Jurassic World Trilogy ended in 2022 with what should have been the final installment, Jurassic World: Dominion. Yet, in 2025, we got another installment that is as confused about what it wants to do as we are to receive it. Rebirth leaves alot to be desired, battling Dominion and Fallen Kingdom for the right to be called the worst film in the franchise.

036 - F1: The Movie, Dir. Joseph Kosinski
The wait for Joseph Kosinski's next great film is over- and F1: The Movie is it. Summer Blockbusters don't get any bigger, nor can they have a bigger star than this one. Kosinski delivers again so much of what made Top Gun: Maverick so incredible- The deep and interwoven narrative that so wonderfully gives us real characters with a sweeping and emotional score. F1 is worth the wait and is that film, complimented by a deep and haunting Hans Zimmer score. If you can see it on an IMAX screen or Dolby Digital, you will be amazed as the film takes you on the F1 track and puts you in directly in the cockpit of a Formula 1 car with a larger than life star. Don't miss this in theaters.

035 - 28 Years Later, Dir. Danny Boyle
In, 2002, Danny Boyle brought us a terrifying new take on the "Zombie" genre. 28 Days Later was the natural evolution of the Zombie film. The rage infected are scarier, more deadly, quicker and were hard to fight. 28 Days Later made zombies scary again on the big screen with a bold new vision of how they could be. In 2007, 28 Weeks Later had a larger budget and the Hollywood treatment with faster paced action, bigger cast list and an expanded view of the 28 franchise. Now in 2025, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland return to Gove us latest installment in an even more expanded world of quarantined Britain and surrounding islands. It's been 28 years since in outbreak and life in Britain is still horrifying, to say the least. 28 Years Later is weird but, ultimately, a pretty decent movie.

034 - How to Train Your Dragon (2025), Dir. Dean DeBlois
In 2010, How to Train Your Dragon was an absolute masterpiece of a movie. In 2025, while it may not be a perfect 10 like the animated original, the remake is a wonderful and faithful adaption. it's not quite shot for shot, adding more depth to some sequences that would require a more human element with pacing, while still maintaining the soul and adventure of the original. Some characters don't translate nearly as well but still do work. If you liked the animated, you will absolutely like this one also. See it in IMAX if you can- the flight sequences are really something to see.
